With EA Sports College Football 25’s release approaching, the virtual football community is experiencing unparalleled excitement and preparation.

I spoke to a young fan last week who had already created the logo for his fictional school, which he plans to upload to the Team Builder website once it is live so that he can import his school into the game.

The thirst is serious in the virtual football streets.

I must admit I’m being bitten by the bug myself. After previewing the game last month, I’ve gotten a taste of the gameplay, presentation, and player likenesses. Thanks to Pro Football Focus’s assistance and the development team’s attention to detail, I have every confidence that all 134 FBS schools will be accurately represented in the game.

Those two factors have me even more ready to launch multiple Dynasty modes. Based on what I’ve seen, learned, and researched, I’ve compiled a short list of the best schools to control, depending on the type of experience you want in your Dynasty mode.

What’s the Best Powerhouse Team to Control In An EA College Football 25 Dynasty Mode?

This one is pretty simple unless you’re a Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fan. The Georgia Bulldogs are stacked.

They’re currently the top-rated team in ESPN’s Power Index, and I got to use them during my preview. While Carson Beck is an excellent passer and decent scrambler, the playmakers and pass rushers make Georgia a great team in the game.

Trevor Etienne is in the game on Georgia’s roster and is a bullet with insane lateral movement. He was the most fun running back I controlled. Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams should bring the heat off the edge. You can’t go wrong with the Bulldogs if you want the best chance to run the table in your first year of Dynasty mode and recruit 5-star players without much effort.

If You Want a Challenge in Dynasty Mode, What’s The Worst School In EA College Football 25?

No offense to the fans and players at Kent State, but if you can win a national championship in the first three seasons playing on All-American difficulty or higher while using the Golden Flashes, you’re a real one.

According to ESPN’s PI, the Golden Flashes are the worst FBS football team in the country.

You might have an intriguing QB battle between Tommy Ulatowski and Dru DeShields, but you will face an uphill battle controlling a team that isn’t expected to win more than two games in 2024. This challenge is calling my name.

If You Want to Control A Flawed But Exciting Team In EA College Football 25 Dynasty Mode, Who Should You Choose?

The Colorado Buffaloes was the first team I chose to control during my preview of College Football 25. I’ve always loved Deion Sanders, and the Buffs were arguably the biggest story of the 2023 season until the heel broke on the slipper during their would-be Cinderella season.

That said, they are very exciting to play with considering two-way star and cover athlete Travis Hunter is on the team.

When I played, Shedeur Sanders wasn’t in the game, but I was told he signed late, and that’s why he wasn’t included in the build we got to preview. However, he is expected to be in the game at launch.

It would be great to see Prime roaming the sidelines, but since head coaches aren’t in the game–and you can’t edit them–you’ll have to use your imagination.

Still, playing with the Buffs is exciting because they have a handful of exceptional athletes. That said, do not expect a ton of time to throw the ball, and don’t look to generate a lot of pass rush against good teams.

Playing with Colorado is a roller coaster ride, but it might be precisely what you’re looking for as you help build an eventual national champion.

What Team Should You Choose If You Want to Lead a Power-5 School To Its First National Championship in EA College Football 25?

Do you want to make history? Not only have the Kansas State Wildcats never won a national championship in football, but they are also one of just two Power 5 programs in the country to never win a national championship in any sport.

They have a sophomore QB in Avery Johnson, who is a dual threat, and ESPN’s PI has them at No. 22. This scenario might be the balance of challenge, story, and talent you seek in a Dynasty mode.

What Lower-Level Team Can You Control in An EA Sports College Football 25 Dynasty Mode That Has a Good QB?

The Memphis Tigers aren’t expected to be great in 2024. ESPN PI has them at No. 66. However, their QB Seth Henigan should be able to provide you with some solid play under center. He threw 32 TD passes to just nine picks in 2023, so I’d suspect he’ll have at least a solid player rating in the game.

The Tigers will have their hands full in your first season, and Henigan is a senior, so you’ll have to make a splash with him before he graduates.
