Looking for Friday’s Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here:
It’s the last Saturday of November and I am ready for a new month and a fresh start, though I suppose January is really when we all resolve to make better versions of ourselves somehow materialize. We’ll see about that! In any case, it’s time to solve a Strands puzzle. I’m back after a two-week hiatus as my colleagues Kris Holt and Paul Tassi took turns penning this daily guide.
Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.
Spoilers ahead.

Today’s Strands Breakdown
This was a genuinely confounding Strands, but also a really fun one. It wasn’t until my very last guess—the spangram—that I realized what this was even about. I suppose the Yas part of the “theme” today really threw me off. In any case, these are all words from Queen’s song Bohemian Rhapsody, which is wonderfully clever. Enjoy the song!
Enjoy your weekend!
