Apple recently changed its system for which phones it withdraws from sale when. But if you are looking for an iPhone at a bargain price, you can now buy the iPhone 15 Plus direct from Apple at the lowest price the Apple Store refurbished section has ever offered. Here are the details.
The deals highlighted in this post were independently selected by the Contributor and do not contain affiliate links.
Every year, when Apple releases its new phones, last year’s regular iPhone stays in the range alongside the mini or Plus model, while the Pro and Pro Max is retired.
What used to happen is that the previous year’s regular iPhones would also stay on sale, but at a lower price. If that was still happening, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus would be on sale at a lower price in new condition. So, when the iPhone 17 went on sale, the iPhone 16, for example, stayed in the range but dropped in price by $100.
However, in 2025, Apple slimmed down the legacy range, and the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus which would also have been available at a lower price, are no longer available.
Unless, that is, you turn to the refurbished store, where, and here’s the good news, they are available for significantly less than their original new prices.
Right now, the iPhone 15 has just gone out of stock, which is a shame as it was much cheaper than the price new when it went on sale in September 2023. I’ll keep checking the site and let you know if it comes back into stock, as it very well might.
However, the iPhone 15 Plus is available from Apple with 512GB storage, in two colors, black and blue.
If you’d bought this in September 2023 in new condition, it would have set you back $1,199. Apple drops the price as time goes by and the price in refurbished condition is now $869, which is $330 less than its original sticker.
