Danish audio brand Bang & Olufsen has created some truly stunning designs over the years. From the 1970s through to the 1980s, the company produced products that still look modern and technically advanced. One of those products was the Beogram 3000 Series turntable, originally released in 1985. Today, the company has announced the Beosystem 3000c Dune Grey Edition, a complete music system built around a restored Beogram 3000 Series turntable paired with modern Beolab 8 wireless speakers.
As part of the Recreated Classics programme, the Beosystem 3000c is designed to celebrate a lasting relationship with music listening, where well made audio designs become part of people’s lives and remain relevant over time, even over generations.
“Our Recreated Classics Programme goes beyond the preservation of nostalgia. It is about honoring the fact that exceptional audio designs continue to matter to people over time and are rediscovered across generations. The Beosystem 3000c represents a slower, more intentional way of listening, built around ritual, presence and emotional connection to music,” says Mads Kogsgaard Hansen, Director of Product Circularity at Bang & Olufsen.
“By restoring the turntables in Struer and pairing them with modern streaming speakers, we extend their life – and give a new generation the chance to experience what has made them endure for decades,” he adds.
Restored Listening
The Beosystem 3000c combines the tactile experience of vinyl with the flexibility of contemporary listening in a compact music system. At the center is an original, restored Beogram 3000 Series turntable, paired with Beolab 8 stereo speakers that connect analog listening with modern streaming experiences, reflecting Bang & Olufsen’s belief that Beautiful Sound should endure and evolve with the way people listen today.
The new Dune Grey Edition pairs a soft matte aluminum body with dark walnut details, balancing precision sound with a warm and tactile feel. Inspired by the tones and textures of the Nordic coastline, the material palette reflects Bang & Olufsen’s approach to design with simplicity and natural materials that give the music system a calm and understated presence.
A Second Life
Sourced from around the world and returned to Bang & Olufsen’s headquarters in Struer, each product is restored, reimagined and reassembled by hand by Bang & Olufsen specialists, balancing preservation with renewed craftsmanship and contemporary material updates.
Rather than reproducing the past, the Recreated Classics programme explores why certain designs continue to resonate across generations. Each piece becomes a distinctive interpretation of an iconic original, shaped by the idea that Beautiful Sound is not defined by novelty alone, but by the emotional connection people build with the objects they choose to live with over time.
The Dune Grey Edition is strictly limited to 100 pieces worldwide with each unit individually numbered, uniquely engraved, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity to turn it into a collector’s piece.
