Creative Technology has unveiled its new Sound Blaster GS5, a slender and compact soundbar designed to deliver plenty of sound in minimal space. It’s the kind of soundbar that would be ideal for a smaller bedroom TV or even for the sound from a computer in a home office.
Sporting a range of connectivity options and an audio performance that punches above its weight, the new Sound Blaster GS5 is powered with SuperWide technology which produces a wide and immersive soundstage that can bring out the sound effects from a gaming session or for watching a movie at home.
Despite its small size, Creative Technology says the Sound Blaster GS5 has a deep bass and a clear top end. It is powered by full-range racetrack drivers and has a built-in port tube producing a peak power output of up to 60W, which should be enough for anything from a subtle whisper to a huge explosion.
Alongside the SuperWide technology, the soundstage expands to make the audio experience even more immersive because the Sound Blaster GS5 has two SuperWide modes. There is a Near Field Mode for desktop use and a Far Field Mode for use in larger spaces like a living room, ensuring the same wide soundstage no matter the size of the listening space.
There is a range of connectivity options with the Sound Blaster GS5. There is USB-C, AUX input, optical-in and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless streaming. These options allow for a range of plug-and-play setups including TVs, PCs and gaming consoles.
Additionally, the Sound Blaster GS5 has built-in RGB lighting and a remote control allows for making quick setting changes and volume adjustments. The slim profile of the soundbar makes the Sound Blaster GS5 ideal for desktop use with a computer or an audio upgrade for TVs.
