A new trailer has been released in the build up to the launch of Escape From Tarkov, which seems to focus heavily on the story of Tarkov and the incoming story quests that will be added with the 1.0 launch.
The new trailer, titled Echoes of Unfallen, didn’t show any gameplay or new features, and instead seemed to focus on the story of Tarkov. It gave us a look at how many of the traders in Tarkov got their start, and hints of the lives they lived before the current situation kicked off. It also showed many of the PMC groups found in the game getting their start in the region.
This cinematic style trailer seems to be teasing the story mode quests that will be added with the 1.0 launch on November 15, with many expecting a lot of the narrative around how Tarkov ended up like this to be added.
The trailer ends saying that it is time to escape, further reminding players that with the full launch you will actually be able to escape Tarkov for the first time, which seems to be one of the main selling points for the final version.

For Tarkov fans, this was a nice reminder of many of the characters we have come to know and love, but it still feels like the marketing campaign for the launch has been very strange and muted so far. There hasn’t been much in the way of teasing the new additions other than in person at expos, which a large potion of the player base have not been able to see. With just a week to go until the launch, I was hoping this would give us a more in depth look at some of the upcoming changes, and instead it was all cinematic based and didn’t really show anything of note.
I’ve no doubt that the launch of Tarkov will be great and bring a ton of new content that has been sorely needed for a while now, but with so little in the way of hype and information about the launch, I don’t feel as excited as I thought I would. However, it seems I may be in the minority, as over 750,000 people have wish listed the game on Steam according to game director Nikita Buyanov.
The launch of Escape From Tarkov is set for November 15, with the game arriving on Steam for the first time and a major update being added for current players. It will add the story mode quest line and the ability to escape from Tarkov, but only a tiny amount of players are expected to actually do that.
