The Acolyte is already halfway over. Disney’s latest Star Wars Disney+ show has aired just four episodes, some of which were shockingly short, and has four more to go.

The Acolyte takes place 100 years before the events of the Star Wars movies, long before the birth of Anakin Skywalker and his progeny and long before Palpatine overthrew the Republic. The story follows two twins—Osha and Mae, played by Amandla Stenberg—who were separated as children and have been reunited by violence.

Mae is hunting and killing Jedi she believes were responsible for the death of her family, under the orders of a mysterious Master. Osha is caught up in the murder mystery, dragged back to confront her sister by her old Jedi Master, Sol (Lee Jung-jae).

Last week’s episode ended on the planet Khofar, with the Wookiee Jedi, Kalnacca, murdered and the first appearance of the Sith, who Force-blasted Sol and his team of Jedi and Padawan with ease.

I’m not sure what to make of this show so far. It’s had some interesting moments and a couple cool fight scenes, and I’m certainly intrigued by the Dark Jedi—whether they’re a Sith or something else—and last week’s episode ended on a frustrating cliffhanger, since the rather slow (and short) episode finally got exciting at the very end.

When Does Episode 5 Stream On Disney?

Episode 5 lands on Disney+ on Tuesday, June 25th at 6pm PT / 9pm ET. The next three episodes will air at the same time on the following three Tuesdays, July 2nd, 9th and 16th.

It’s likely that we’ll learn the identity of the Sith soon, as well as finally find out what happened to the coven of space witches in more flashback episodes. I am currently rather dubious about the show, which feels too cheap for its $180 million budget. The writing leaves a lot to be desired, but I remain hopeful that the back half of the season will improve.

Is There A Trailer For Episode 5?

There isn’t a specific trailer for Episode 5 unfortunately, but Disney did release a promo that shows glimpses of what’s to come over the next few weeks:

At least the Jedi Wookiee, Kelnacca, gets to use his lightsaber!

I made a video as well, expressing my disappointment with the series so far:
