After months of waiting and at least one false start, the Crownfall update for Dota 2 is almost here with its release window finally approaching.
The Dota 2 Crownfall update is expected to be the biggest patch in almost a year, bringing with it a new hero in the form of Ringmaster and more than a few changes to the game. Many are predicting that the patch will bring map changes, as well as a host of new items and hero reworks, much like the massive 7.33 patch did this time last year.
The patch is also expected to bring with it the first major set of new cosmetics in a while, with at least one Arcana set expected to launch. This will be the first since Valve’s decision to move away from the battle pass where the rarest cosmetic items were offered to those who levelled it up.
As with any Dota 2 update, we don’t have a definitive release date, but we are about to hit the expected release window, so it should be coming within the next couple of weeks.
When does the Dota 2 Crownfall Update Release?
The Dota 2 Crownfall update will be released in “mid-April” according to developers Valve, with the community marking April 18 as the most likely release date. This is because of the trend of Dota 2 updates being released on Thursdays, however, there is a small chance that it could be released as soon as April 11.
There is also a chance that it won’t be released on a Thursday, with April 16 or 23 also being predicted as possible dates.
We likely won’t find out the final release date until 24 hours before the Crownfall patch launches, with Valve usually releasing some kind of tease the day before a major patch. We should also know the patch is on its way once streamer Robson “TeaGuvnor” Merritt starts his waiting room stream.
When is Ringmaster released in Dota 2?
The new Dota 2 hero Ringmaster will likely launch as part of the Crownfall patch, which is due to arrive in mid-April. April 18 is the most likely release date given previous patch schedules.
Like all other Dota 2 heroes, Ringmaster will be completely free to play and immediately unlocked for everyone to play. However, there will likely be some cosmetics released for the hero that you will be able to purchase with real money.
There are few details on what Ringmaster will do, but given his theme and the initial teaser for the hero he seems to be a circus-themed character that will be able to trap, and potentially control other heroes in the game.
