Official information for Madden 25 began rolling out on Friday, June 14. Along with the reveal, EA launched the Closed Beta.
You need a code from EA. The sign-up process for it was in May, and the publisher is likely to start distributing codes over the weekend. Keep an eye on Madden’s official social media accounts for codes.
If you can get one, which should be more accessible over the weekend, you can redeem it and play Madden 25 early.
As is always the case with betas, there are some known issues and limitations, which EA has detailed on its website. The beta is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles and on PC via the EA app. You must be 18 years old to participate.
EA also offered this vital note for anyone downloading and playing the beta:
“When participating in the confidential Madden NFL 25 Closed Beta, you must refrain from recording, streaming and/or capturing any portion of the closed beta. You also must not post videos, thoughts, discussions, screenshots or stream the closed beta on social media or the Internet. Doing so will result in removal from the closed beta as well as potential bans on all Madden NFL accounts.”
Here is the availability for both weekends of the beta:
- Weekend One: 2:00 P.M. EDT (Estimated) Friday, June 14 to 2:00 P.M. EDT Tuesday, June 18
- Weekend Two: 2:00 P.M. EDT (Estimated) Thursday, June 27 to 2:00 P.M. EDT Tuesday, July 2
Here’s what’s available to play across both weekends of beta access:

While I have played the game in Play Now mode during my Madden 25 preview, I haven’t had a chance to play Superstar, Ultimate Team, or Franchise mode.
Because of that, I’ll be interested in spending some time on those modes. Unfortunately, the Team Builder website will not be available during the beta, so users won’t get a chance to see how this feature will impact their franchise modes.
Once I can play the beta, I’ll follow up with more game impressions. Until then, check out my gameplay, graphics, hands-on impression, and franchise mode overview.
