Danish headset and wireless earbud giant is exhibiting at CES 2024. This year, the company is announcing a new suite of extensive firmware updates at the show for the company’s latest Elite wireless earbuds.

The Jabra Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 earbuds will receive a suite of updates in 2024 that will boost the audio quality while improving well the overall functionality and usability of Jabra’s latest earbuds. The first update will be rolled out in January and includes an easy-to-use on/off toggle for Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation, HearThrough, and Sidetone features. There will also be new voice tone prompts.

The updates will also deliver better interaction and enable users to customize their earbuds to suit their preferences. The firmware updates will also let users choose a Bluetooth device name for identifying their earbuds. That will be useful in crowded situations.

By March 2024, users can expect an update to deliver optimized call clarity for the Elite 10, making it easier to take calls in busy places like offices, restaurants or out in the street. Jabra’s latest noise suppression algorithms have been designed to identify and reduce background voices, offering more productive conversations.

Jabra’s improvements to the Adaptive ANC on Elite 8 Active earbuds, paired with a HearThrough function, will be more effective in windy conditions. This is due to some upgraded wind noise detection technology.

The announcement of these new updates at CES 2024 underlines Jabra’s reputation for continuing to improve existing products as better technology becomes available. It’s also good that the company is willing to take criticism on board and address any shortcomings. Indeed, the firmware announcement makes a change from some brands who seem to turn their back on products almost as soon as they are launched.

The new updates will be delivered in two waves. The first will roll out in January 2024 and the second in March 2024. Updates will be via Jabra’s Sound+ app and are available to all users at no cost.
