Hey look, it’s October! How did that happen? September flew by so fast. Now we’re really in the thick of fall, and Halloween will be here before we know it. Time to get your cider and scented candles, folks. Autumn is well and truly upon us. And really, is there any better season for puzzle-solving? Let’s solve today’s Strands!
Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.

Today’s Strands Breakdown
I had a bit of trouble getting this one started but once I found the first word—DISCOVERY, ironically—things got a lot easier. LIFETIME basically cordoned off the spangram making NETWORK easy to find, and one by one the rest fell. Definitely not as challenging as yesterday’s Strands!
