The Professional Fighters League is set to promote the Battle of the Giants, its first Superfights PPV, which will take place on October 19.

It will be headlined by former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou taking on reigning PFL heavyweight king Renan Ferreira. Jake Paul will host the press event at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, August 22. Expect the event’s location and perhaps more fights on the card to be revealed.

The easiest way to watch the event will be on the PFL’s YouTube channel.

The embed for the press conference is below, and it begins at 1 p.m ET:

The giants will be battling for the inaugural PFL Superfights heavyweight title in a scrap that pits two of the best heavyweights in the world against each other for one of the top prizes in the sport.

Had Ngannou not left the UFC, he might still be the champion of that promotion. He was never defeated for his title, and thus walks into his fight with Ferreira with just as big of a target on his back as the PFL champion,

In addition to the face-to-face meeting between Ngannou and Ferreira, another pair of champions are scheduled to go face-to-face at the presser. The October 19 show’s co-main event will have Bellator women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg taking on two-time PFL champion Larissa Pacheco in one of the most highly anticipated fights of the year.

When the PFL acquired Bellator in 2023, a pair of potential dream fights for Cyborg became more realistic. Epic clashes with Kayla Harrison or Pacheco are fights that jumped off the page for Cyborg.

With Harrison bolting for the UFC and Pacheco as the reigning champion, it made sense for Cyborg to fight her fellow Brazilian fighter.

While Paul is listed as the host for the event, it would not be a major shock if he has news to report or promote. Paul is set to face Mike Tyson in November in the first-ever live sports event on Netflix.

It would be a surprise if Paul didn’t mention his upcoming fight with the boxing icon. Also, Paul signed with the PFL for a mixed martial arts fight back in early 2023, but he has yet to set a date or confirm an opponent for his debut in the sport.

Could Paul surprise the crowd? We’ll see.

In addition to the PFL Superfights presser, the promotion hosts four world championship semifinal fights at featherweight and welterweight on August 23 at The Anthem.
