Despite some faint hope from the Escape From Tarkov community, it looks like the next wipe will not be arriving this week, with next week looking like the most realistic release date.
After promising an August wipe and talk of it arriving early in the month, some fans speculated that given Battlestate Games’ tendency to release a new wipe on a Thursday, we could see the new Tarkov wipe release tomorrow, August 1. However, with a lack of in game events and no communication so far on a wipe date that dream now seems to be dead, with other signs pointing to an August 8 release date for the new wipe.
Typically, before a new wipe arrives, we get some end of wipe events that send the game into chaos. We did get the first of those over the weekend, with the Labs map being opened up to everyone and a new quest added to play the map. While this is usually one of the end of wipe events, which also made some think a wipe would be this week, we have not had the other usual events yet where all items from traders are sold for pennies and all bosses are added to certain maps. It would be a shock if none of these events happened before the wipe.
It seems very likely that at least some kind of event will launch in the next few days and run over the weekend, which would then create a likely release date of August 8 for the next Escape From Tarkov wipe. This is further backed up by the fact that the current ranking season in Escape From Tarkov Arena is also ending on the 8th, and will likely also be wiped alongside the main game.
There is, of course, no guarantee that the wipe will arrive next week but given all the signs that are pointing in that direction I would wager that is the current plan. We have seen last minute delays before to fix some issues, but they are mostly quite rare, so if you want to jump in on wipe day, clear your calendar for the end of next week.
While this wipe will not be as large as previous ones, given a lot of the team is working on content that will only be released when Tarkov hits 1.0, we do know that some new additions to the hideout are coming, as well as new weapons and the reworked Factory map. So all things considered, it should still be a fun wipe to try out.
