In case you missed Thursday’s NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here:

TGIF! The weekend is almost here, as is my weekly tenure for these Mini Crossword guides. This will be my last Mini Crossword guide until two weeks from Saturday, when I take back the baton. It looks like yet another lovely fall weekend, so I’m hoping to enjoy that extra time hiking and getting house and yard work done. Fun times! For now, let’s solve this crossword!

Spoilers ahead, obviously. Skip ahead for the image of today’s solved puzzle.

5 — Insurgent takeovers — COUPS

7 — Condemn publicly — DECRY

DOWN

1 — Took to the oars — ROWED

2 — “An __ of prevention is worth a pound of cure” (proverb) — OUNCE

I don’t think my head was in the right place when I started this Mini Crossword, which explains why it took me 3:01 to finish. Ouch. I was just not putting two and two together, distracted by life and all that jazz. I did start out with the right 1-Across—ROSE—despite knowing nothing at all about “The Bachelorette” and that helped. But others, like COUPS threw me off because of the plural. Sometimes my brain just doesn’t go to the plural right away. In any case, tricky enough for a Friday night! How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.

If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!
