In case you missed Wednesday’s NYT Mini, you can find the answers here:

Wondering what “let me start by saying” refers to? Not sure what underwater plant can grow over a foot in one day? Don’t worry, because I’m here to help you with the answers for today’s NYT Mini crossword.

The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper’s larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you’ll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

To help you avoid getting stuck and having to reveal missing letters, here are the NYT Mini Crossword answers for Thursday, August 15 (spoilers lie ahead, of course):

It took me 2:44 to complete today’s NYT Mini.

As you might have gathered by my time, this was a tough one for me! I didn’t get anything at all on my first pass of the Across clues (though KELP was on the tip of my tongue). All I got on my first crack at the Down clues were SKIP and TLC. Those helped me figure out RELIC, which meant 3 Down had to be RALLY and not my initial thought of STUMP.

KELP and SLY were next, and I was able to get both 1 Across and Down. That left me with one letter that I couldn’t figure out for the life of me for an agonizingly long time. I finally deduced that it was “F” to let me complete OF ALL, I FEEL and the grid as a whole. Phew.
