Wordle Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here.

This went well, largely thanks to my strategy of eliminating as many vowels as possible in the first two guesses. CHOIR left me with 75 words and one green box. I decided it made sense to guess all new letters for guess #2 since there were no yellow boxes to juggle, and went with SLATE. This surprised me. I now had a green ‘I’ and a yellow ‘A’ and ‘E’. After a bit of pondering and rearranging, it became clear that only one word remained (at least that I could think of): MEDIA!

Competitive Wordle Score

I get 1 point for guessing in three and 0 for tying the Bot. Thankfully, I get to double that because of 2XP Friday. 2 points! Zounds!

How To Play Competitive Wordle

Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.

If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word “media” comes from the Latin plural of “medium,” which means “middle” or “intermediate.” The term “medium” originally referred to something that exists or occurs in the middle, and its usage expanded to include various means or instruments through which something is conveyed or accomplished. In the context of communication, “medium” refers to any tool or technology used to transmit information, and “media” is the plural form, commonly used today to refer collectively to various forms of mass communication such as newspapers, radio, and television.
