Destiny 2’s season is winding down, its main story content either ending this week or next, and given the Final Shape delay, there will be only smaller events to return to before its June release date.
So, in the interim, I am spending my time farming up the remaining new weapons I don’t have. Many can be crafted, but others can’t and you’ll just have to get lucky. But for my money, here are the things worth pursuing now that you have a whole lot of time to do so. It’s a really great season for loot!
Scatter Signal (Seasonal Fusion Rifle) – An incredible new fusion rifle and likely the best in slot, especially on Strand builds. You can go Slice/Controlled Burst to dramatically reduce boss/champion damage, or Overflow/Controlled Burst for max DPS.
Doomed Petitioner (Seasonal Linear Fusion Rifle) – This linear fusion rifle is going to be incredible if the LFR meta returns outside of some specific encounters. Envious Assassin/Precision Instrument makes it one of the best in class for sure.
Adhortative (Seasonal Pulse Rifle) – A reprised Undying weapon that’s a lot of fun. I enjoy Heal Clip/Incandescent, a unique roll for the weapon class, but Feeding Frenzy/Incandescent makes it feel like a better No Time to Explain.
Subjunctive (Seasonal SMG) – Love this thing, as its actually replaced my IKELOS with a Stats for All/Voltshot roll. Lightweight frame feels much better than Aggressive to me. A must-craft in my opinion.
Breakneck (Gambit Ritual Auto Rifle) – The classic gun returns in an era where legendary most kinetic primaries aren’t used much, but it’s a ton of fun with Subsistence/Onslaught. It’s also one of the only guns that can roll Pugilist/Demolitionist for specific builds.
Wish-Keeper (Dungeon Exotic Bow) – This is not “random” but you are going to want to farm the intrinsic and catalysts for it for four weeks in the exotic mission, and I am farming until I get the last upgrade, Hatchling, for great Strand synergy.
Indebted Kindness (Dungeon Rocket Pistol) – Easily my favorite new gun of the season, and I don’t even have the rolls I want for it yet. My goals are Lead from Gold/Surrounded for big damage boosts and good ammo economy and Impulse Amplifier/Voltshot for bonus mob clearing.
Vengeful Whisper (Dungeon Bow) – An interesting new bow that can have some truly terrible rolls, but also really good ones. I am going for Explosive Head/Hatchling myself, but Splice/Successful Warm-Up is a great dueling option for PvP given the damage reduction.
Crux Termination (World Drop Rocket Launcher) – Now we get into the new drops you cannot farm up this season, including this rocket launcher which can roll the Apex Predator-like Reconstruction/Bipod with Slideshot/Surrounded also being a great option. You will be able to farm this in lost sectors next season. Which is…very far away.
Ros Arago IV (World Drop Auto Rifle) – Somehow this is…one of the best legendary primaries in the game? At least on Void. At least with Repulsor Brace/Onslaught. I love my Subsistence/Onslaught roll on it too, even if it lacks the synergy. Again, you’ll have to get lucky or try to farm it next season.
