Battlestate Games has released the patch notes for Escape From Tarkov 14.0.1, which is a small patch that aims to fix a lot of the annoying bugs that have popped up since the most recent wipe.
The 14.0.1 patch notes are almost all bug fixes, with no new content being added. However, the bug fixes do fix some of the most annoying issues in Tarkov, so the patch is a welcome one.
A welcome change for most players will be the fix to the bug that would get you stuck on the loading screen of a scav run, forcing you to close the game and lose your scav. The patch notes say that this issue has now been fixed, so there should be no more lost scavs going forward.
The other big change comes to ammo penetration and damage calculations for some ammo types when interacting with the new armour system. Some experiments from players revealed that top-level ammo such as .338 Lapua Magnum would struggle to penetrate certain armours and do very little damage. This has now been fixed, with other ammo types also being tweaked.
Finally, items found from an airdrop will now be found in raid, which should make life a lot easier when it comes to finding rare items you need for a quest. With this change, you can expect to see a lot more red flares going off in raids for the next few days.
