In what might possibly be the biggest leak in Fortnite history, the entire roadmap of content for the coming year may have just leaked. It comes from 4chan which yes, 4chan, but many of Fortnite’s biggest leakers appear to be confirming its potential validity, and if true, it offers us an expansive look at what’s coming over the next year. Here are the highlights:
- Chapter 5, Season 3 – Apocalypse themed, and features Metallica coming to the game. Possibly Pirates of the Caribbean skins as well.
- Chapter 5, Season 4 – Another Marvel-based season, this time starring the Fantastic Four, some of the biggest Marvel characters that have still not make their way into the game.
- Chapter 5, Season 5 – The return of OG Fortnite.
- Chapter 6 launch – No information yet.
Past that, it shows the next four ICON/Festival Artists being featured in the game:
- Billie Eilish (as soon as Tuesday)
- Metallica (in June)
- Karol G (in August)
- Snoop Dogg (in October)
LEGO mode is reportedly getting Star Wars content and the addition of LEGO Klombo from older seasons of Battle Royale.
The image, which I won’t post here if it’s actually a proprietary document, does appear to be genuine, or at least very difficult to fake given some of what’s shown here, which would be well beyond AI-generating abilities, as some have speculated. Something like Billie Eilish showing up may happen as soon as Tuesday, lending more credence to the whole thing. Some of it may be placeholder art, like just using a Metallica album cover instead of showing them in the game.
It’s an interesting year of crossovers, as many do not seem to align with specific promotions. Billie Eilish is relevant as one of the biggest artists of the moment, fresh off an Oscar win. But the Fantastic Four movie is not coming until 2025. Pirates of the Caribbean is supposedly coming back with a new installment, but not for a long time. I’m also curious what skins it would get besides just Jack Sparrow, though I suppose we could be hitting the griddy with Keira Knightley.
What we don’t know are the specific story events of how one season moves into the others. There’s speculation about how Doctor Doom may return and be involved as a major villain in the Fantastic Four story. Or Galactus, who we have already seen the Fortnite world once. But the Fantastic Four changes the dynamic. Stay tuned for more info, or more leaks…
