Watch Kai Cenat Take Six Hours To Beat Elden Ring’s Tree Sentinel

Watch Kai Cenat Take Six Hours To Beat Elden Ring’s Tree Sentinel

Kai Cenat remains one of the most popular streamers in the world, and his latest draw is a new series he’s doing is playing extremely long games in one stream. He did this before with Red Dead Redemption 2, which took him 56 hours, but now he’s moved on to Elden Ring, and it’s clear it’s going to take him much, much more than that.

With his room fully decked out in Elden Ring vibes, Cenat entertained/frustrated audiences by spending six hours on the first (optional) boss in Elden Ring, the galloping Tree Sentinel, which you see almost immediately after getting into the Lands Between.

This is extremely funny for Elden Ring players as it’s pretty common knowledge after a couple deaths you are not supposed to fight the Tree Sentinel right away as you are not even close to strong enough where you’re supposed to beat him. This is not an uncommon Souls trope, naturally. Most players level up, come back later, and destroy him. It’s meant to be a satisfying way to showcase how strong you’ve gotten.

Unless your Kai Cenat, who spent six hours refusing to give up on the Tree Sentinel despite still wearing starter gear. He died 123 times and cried when he finally beat it. Warning: Language.

You can watch the full stream here. I can’t tell if this was a bit, and he probably knew you weren’t supposed to beat him, or if he’s really that stubborn. Either way, it was entertaining, but if this is his plan going forward, it’s probably going to take him a year to beat the game. There are signs he may continue to make this as hard as possible for himself, as right after this he marched straight over to Margit, which he was very much also underleveled for. That fight took him three hours. He is now sleeping on stream.

He’s an entertainer, what can you say. Even if he’s just refusing to play the game “normally” and making it even more difficult than it needs to be, it’s fun to watch. I assume the idea here is that he wants to “beat” the game as soon as possible and he thinks he’s making his way through all the bosses in short order. But some, like the Tree Sentinel, you just skip. I can’t imagine he’s going through and hunting all the optional bosses in the game during this process.

If Red Dead Redemption 2 took him 56 hours, this is going to take him what, at least a 100? My own playthrough took me about that long, but that was with a ton of exploration. Here, if he’s just going for main bosses but those bosses are taking hours each, yeah, that’s going to be awhile. Can’t wait to see him take on Malenia.
