Google’s latest offer to Pixel customers offers more than a twenty percent discount on the Pixel 8 and a third off the Pixel 8 Pro for UK customers… and there’s even more on offer if they trade in their old phone.
This offer sits alongside a similar deal in the US last week. The two handsets saw $150 and $250 knocked off their respective prices in the Google Store. Previously, US offers were tied to a Google One subscription; this was a straight discount available to all US customers.
UK customers now have a similar chance to join the Pixel ecosystem.
A further discount is available if consumers trade in their old phone, with Google offering up to £650 depending on the model and condition you offer. Given the trade-in value on the likes of an iPhone 14 Pro Max and the discounted value of Google’s handsets, it’s possible to not only pick up a new Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro for free, but some consumers might see cashback on the bundle.
Google has run trade-ins and discounts close to a Pixel device’s list price. As the Pixel 8a launched in May, Google discounted the Pixel Tablet and offered significant trade-in prices for older tablets. While this was a listing error, the company honoured all of its offers for older tablets.
Details on the upcoming Pixel 9 phones are coming out, but the next-generation Pixel handsets are not expected to be launched until early October, some four months away. There will be a wave of new handsets before then, including Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, and Apple’s iPhone 16 and 16 Pro family.
Getting consumers into the Pixel ecosystem before then will have long-term benefits to Android in general and Google in particular. This offer runs in the UK until July 2.
