Solstice is back in Destiny 2, and while the activity has essentially not changed at all, minus a slightly modified bounty-based armor farm, we do in fact have a new weapon, and a bunch of new, actually quite good rolls on old weapons from the event.
Here are the god rolls for the new and old weapons for Destiny 2’s Solstice 2024, though feel free to ping me with your own favorites on Twitter and I may add them.
Fortunate Star (Void Bow)
- Successful Warm-Up or Archer’s Tempo/Archer’s Gambit – This is the brand new bow for the year, and it has some interesting combos, if only a few. I think this is one, a draw-speed based, Hush-like, hip-firing extravaganza because they decided to just throw the Gambit perk on here, because why not. Archer’s Tempo is probably the better one because it’s draw strong on hit while Warm-Up is on kill, however those kills don’t have to be precision. And remember the origin trait for these weapons also decreases draw time on assists.
- Repulsor Brace/Volatile Rounds – This is essentially a combo you want on every Void weapon, and the same is true for this bow, of course. I’m not sure if you’ll be using it over other options, however.
Something New (Stasis Hand Cannon)
- Rapid Hit/Explosive Rounds – I swear to god any hand cannon with Explosive Rounds is twice as fun than one without it, and this heavy-hitting Hand Cannon is no exception. It slaps, as the kids say.
- Rapid Hit/Headstone – This synergizes well and leans into a Stasis build if you’re going down that path.
- Elemental Capacitor or To the Pain/Precision Instrument or Kill Clip – A few options here for a solid PvP roll, albeit likely not the best-in-class or anything like that.
Compass Rose (Solar Shotgun)
- Threat Remover/One-Two Punch – The oldest Solstice weapon has now been given the newest shotgun perk, one that synergizes incredibly well with One-Two Punch given that you hit all the pellets in the shot for both perks.
- Threat Remover/Barrel Constrictor – The latter helps out with the synergy of the former, albeit it’s final blow-based which is not always what you’re going for with shotguns as you’re more focused on individual tough enemies.
- Grave Robber/Trench Barrel or One-Two Punch – There’s a melee involved either way and because this doesn’t have auto-loading holster, this is the best you’re gonna get for refilling ammo.
- Slideshot/Opening Shot – A solid PvP combo for a Precision Frame shotgun.
Crowning Duologue (Strand Rocket Launcher)
- Reconstruction/Bipod – How many rockets do you want? All the rockets? Here’s one way to gem them.
- Reconstruction/Envious Assassin – Oh even more rockets? Well here you go.
- Reconstruction/Bait and Switch – Alright fine, fewer rockets, but an important damage perk here for your heavy slot to make sure those extra rockets actually pack a punch.
