As Google’s new Pixel 9 range starts shipping to buyers, the company is clearing out old stock with a new sale—including the Pixel 7 series, which could mean this is the last time the 2022 handset will be available directly from Google’s shop.
In a new end-of-summer sale in the U.K., the company has discounted the Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 range and the original Pixel Fold. There are some decent savings here, especially if buyers trade in their older handsets.

The trade-in prices don’t match up to the enhanced values Google is currently offering for the Pixel 9 series. For example, if you pick up the discounted Pixel 8 Pro and send in your Pixel 7 Pro, Google will give you £247 ($324.58).
If, however, you’re buying the Pixel 9 Pro (during the pre-order period) the Search company will pay £387 ($508.55) for your Pixel 7 Pro. It’s the same across other devices, like the Apple iPhone 13 Pro, which nets a £411 ($540.09) valuation when purchasing the Pixel 8 Pro compared to the £501 price when buying the Pixel 9 Pro.
Elsewhere, Google’s pre-order deals end this week. In the U.K. and the U.S. the company is offering double storage for free, boosted trade-in values, a year of Gemini Advanced for free and $350 in store credit when any of the new phones are purchased.
If you miss out on the Pixel 9 pre-order deals this week, Google will almost certainly drop the price of these phones again as it has done repeatedly this year. The company slashed prices for the Pixel 8 series in nearly every month since it launched last October.
That applies to the Gemini offer, too. Google is actively trying to onboard as many people into its AI ecosystem as possible, so there will be more offers in the near future. Earlier this year the company rolled Nest Aware and FitBit Premium into its Google One AI premium cloud storage tier.
That deal hasn’t made it to the U.S., but it shows that the company is ready to make dramatic offers to entice more customers to its platform, especially as Apple prepares to launch its own AI toolkit in iOS 18. There will be more opportunities to pick up a discounted Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold before the end of 2024.
