In case you missed Tuesday’s NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here:
Welcome back to your friendly neighborhood New York Times Mini Crossword guide!
The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it’s free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you’ll need the app to tackle the archive.
Spoilers ahead, obviously. Skip ahead for all the answers plus an image of today’s completed puzzle.
ACROSS
1 — Doc treating a dachshund – VET
4 — “Nice going!” – BRAVO
6 — Tended to, as a squeaky wheel – OILED
7 — Drop a few bucks – SPEND
8 — Last word before the starting pistol goes off – SET
DOWN
1 — Parking pro – VALAET
2 — Divisible by two – EVEN
3 — Mary ___ Lincoln, first lady of the 1860s – TODD
4 — Mr. Burns’s relationship to Homer Simpson – BOSS
5 — Ready for picking – RIPE
This one was surprisingly easy. I wasn’t sure about a couple so I just went with the ones I knew were a slam dunk like VET and (I assumed) SPEND. Mary TODD Lincoln is a factoid that I guess stuck with me also, and clearly Mr. Burns is Homer Simpson’s BOSS. After that the rest of the words just sort of fell together. I completed today’s Mini Crossword in 1:07. How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!
