Another new season of Overwatch 2 is about to get underway. There’s no new map or hero this time, but there are some significant map reworks. You can also expect balance changes a-plenty, Halloween-themed events and some killer new cosmetics and skin variants. If you’re wondering exactly when Overwatch 2 Season 13: Spellbinder will start, don’t worry: I’ve got you covered.
Season 13 of Overwatch 2 will go live on Tuesday, October 14. Unless there’s a last-minute hitch (such as a technical issue), the season should start at 2PM ET. You can click here to see when that is in your time zone.
If you play on PC and you have automatic downloads enabled on the Battle.net client, you may now see a message below the play button on the Overwatch 2 tab that reads “Pre-release content downloaded.” If so, the Season 13 patch should be installed on your PC, so you should be all set to start playing as soon as the season commences. Console players will have to wait until Season 13 goes live before they can download the patch and join the fun.
The Mythic skin for this season looks rad. It’s a witch-flavored one for Widowmaker. At the highest tier, her hat sets on fire. There are delicious new black-and-gold variants for previous Mythic skins too, along with a My Hero Academia collab. Previous Halloween limited-time modes including Junkenstein’s Revenge return, and there’s a new team deathmatch-based one with customizable abilities.
It’s looking like a pretty fun season. I’m looking forward to jumping in on Tuesday.
