Samsung has slashed the price of the Galaxy S24 Ultra (again) in one of its best deals yet.
The company’s new Black Friday offer knocks a huge £250 ($316.72) off the flagship handset until December 3rd. If you were patient and disciplined enough to resist Samsung’s repeated discounts in the lead-up to the shopping holiday, this is one of the better prices for the smartphone so far.
Samsung has also bundled the price cut with a handful of freebies.
- Free Galaxy Buds Pro (if buyers leave a review).
- Free Galaxy Ring sizing kit and 25% off the wearable.
- An additional 5% off if the Galaxy S24 Ultra is bought through the Samsung Shopping app (with code “BF5”).
- One free month of Samsung Care Plus.
The company has also upped trade-in prices, which top out at £490 ($620.77). Only the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will net the top figure, while the best price you will get for any Apple phone is £430 ($544.76) for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Neither are worthy of trading-in because of how new they are.
A more realistic device to swap, the Samsung Galaxy S21, is only priced at £240 ($304.05). In the U.S., Samsung will pay $650 for the same handset, almost double what U.K. shoppers are being offered.
It’s not clear why an imbalance in trade-in prices between the U.K. and U.S. Samsung stores exists, but I have also seen European customers complain about being offered less than expected. It is worth checking the secondary market prices before accepting Samsung’s trade-in figures.
The free pair of Galaxy Buds for shoppers who leave a review is a particularly aggressive, and peculiar, move by Samsung. That is the type of stipulation I expect to see from a small Amazon seller, not a giant conglomerate.
However, it shows the price competition the market has been experiencing for the last 12 months and Samsung’s commitment to doing almost anything to gain an advantage. This is a long-held tradition by the Korean company, as those aware of its marketing history will know.
This promotion runs to December 3rd and it is one of the better deals I have seen so far. The company is releasing new pricing every day, so there will be more opportunities to get a discounted Galaxy S24 Ultra, especially as we get closer to the release of the Galaxy S25 in January.
