The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has just announced a significant addition to its leadership team that the mixed martial arts organization believes will be instrumental in the continued growth within its international markets in the Middle East, Africa and Australia.
The PFL named Scott Aronsky as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The PFL Welcomes Scott Aronsky as CFO
“The Professional Fighters League is experiencing explosive growth, particularly on the global stage, and I’m honored to join at such a pivotal moment,” said Aronsky, CFO of PFL in a statement provided by the PFL. “With PFL’s expansion into key international markets, groundbreaking partnerships, and a truly global fan base, the league is redefining the sport of MMA. I look forward to leveraging my experience to support PFL’s continued success and help drive its financial strategy as we scale to new heights worldwide.”
Aronsky comes onboard as the PFL is transitioning from its season-based format to one that will conduct annual tournaments across multiple weight classes, a Champions Series, and the continuation of its SuperFights series for elite champions like Francis Ngannou and Cris Cyborg.
Aronsky previously served as CFO of Legends, where he oversaw all financial operations, including equity capital, debt management, accounting, budgeting, and global financial systems.
Back in 2021, Aronsky was recognized as one of Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 honorees. This move to PFL represents the next step in his career, and if things go according to the PFL’s plans, the organization’s growth as a global presence in the mixed martial arts world will be augmented.
According to the press release provided to Forbes, as CFO of PFL, Aronsky will be responsible for financial strategy, operations, and capital management.
What’s Next For the PFL?
The PFL’s first Champions Series event on January 25, 2025, was exciting, and it produced one of the best fights of the first quarter of the year with the Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Paul Hughes classic.
Looking ahead to the upcoming events in 2025, in April, the PFL’s first round of their now-annual tournaments will commence. It begins on April 3, with first-round events continuing each week through May 1.
The semifinal rounds start on June 12 and run through the month. Finally, the PFL World Championships across all weight classes take place on August 1, 15, and 21. The next PFL Champions Series event is set for July, but the matchups haven’t been revealed.
Several of the tournament fields have been reveales with the events set to take place in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios.
Expect to hear more information about PFL MENA, PFL Europe, and PFL Africa in the coming months, as Aronsky’s hire points to the organization continuing their full-speed-ahead approach to further establishing a foothold inside and outside of the United States.
