Samsung has confirmed that it has paused the rollout of One UI 7 to Galaxy phones older than the Galaxy S25.
The company hasn’t explained what forced it to halt the rollout of One UI 7, which kicked off on April 7th across the globe, but it has confirmed to me the temporary halt.
“The One UI 7 rollout schedule is being updated to ensure the best possible experience. The new timing and availability will be shared shortly.”
Samsung leaker Ice Universe first reported the rollout pause, which they claimed was attributed to a “serious bug.” Specifically, Korean Galaxy S24 users were unable to unlock their phones after the update, which forced Samsung into action, Ice Universe claims. The Verge later found that the update was no longer listed on Samsung’s servers.
It’s unclear how many users have been affected, or if this supposed bug affects both Snapdragon and Exynos-powered Galaxy phones. In any case, the rollout appears to have been paused for all variants in all countries. We also don’t know if affected Galaxy S24 owners are able to use their phones properly. The Android 15-based update was supposed to land on the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and select 2023 Galaxy phones last week, with more Samsung devices scheduled for a later date. The update would bring new features to older handsets, such as Audio Eraser, Writing Assist, and the Now Bar.
