Monday has returned and with it a brand new week filled to the gills with puzzles to solve, including today’s Strands. There are places to go, people to see and words to uncover, so let’s get right to it!
Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board, revealing more about the rest of the words on the grid.

Read on for today’s theme and some hints to help you uncover today’s words. Instead of giving you the first two letters of each word, today I’m giving out three hints instead of two.

Today’s Strands Breakdown
It is a little odd that we went from sail boats to fishing in the course of two days. Maybe tomorrow we’ll cook the fish up. Fried fish, grilled fish, baked fish, sushi. These were, once again, mostly pretty easy words, though the spangram—SOMETHINGSFISHY—was tricky to find, even though I found FISH and then FISHY pretty early on, and suspected this might be the spangram. I had to find all the other words first before I could piece it together.
