My Life with the Walter Boys season 3 has arrived with a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score on Netflix, a big jump for that series, albeit with not that many critics reporting in yet. Fans may have binged the show and wonder if it will perform well enough to get a season 4. Well, there has been good news on that front for a while, and we may even now know the release date, or at least window.
My Life with the Walter Boys has already been renewed for season 4, a rare move from Netflix, which will sometimes wait months after a new season airs to decide the fate of a show. Here, the announcement was made months before season 3 even aired, and that allowed the series to begin filming immediately back in 2026, shooting once more in Canada.
My Life with the Walter Boys is a Netflix series that is totally on top of its release schedule, a rarity in the streaming era. And if that filming date says anything, it’s that season 4 may get here more quickly than any season yet.
Season 3 started filming on August 6, almost a month before season 2 aired. Season 3 was then released in early August 2026, nearly exactly a year later.
So, if season 4 started filming in May 2026, a year from that would be May 2027, meaning the gap between season 3 and season 4 would be a stunning 10 months, down from the already-great 11 months between the last two seasons’ release dates, and a significant upgrade from the almost two year gap between the first two seasons, that schedule left long behind. It seems like the absolute worst-case scenario would be another year.
It’s very clear that Netflix loves this series, taking one book and now stretching it into four seasons. It’s a great performer, season 3 debuted at #1 on the Netflix top 10 chart and remains there now. It’s cheap, no VFX and an almost entirely unknown cast (or at least they used to be) and it seems likely that it does well in Netflix’s all-important metric, people who actually finish the show. At 10 episodes a season, that’s impressive. Now, on top of all of that, it’s a series it can get out quickly, pleasing fans who are tired of long waits for new seasons.
To date, there has been no endpoint set for the series, no exact number of seasons, albeit showrunner Melanie Halsall says that she has an “overall sense of where we’ll end up.” So far, that does not seem like it will be by the end of season 4, or that would likely have been announced already.
