U.S. delivery dates for the just-announced Model Y L are not immediate as Tesla ramps up production of the long-wheelbase Y.
The Model Y L Premium Launch Series, starting at $61,990, shows “Available: Oct – Nov 2026” on the Model Y order page as of July 11. For the uninitiated, the Model Y L is a longer version (by about 7 inches) of the Model Y and includes a third row of seats.
U.S. delivery estimates on Tesla’s website are dynamic and can vary based on demand, production ramp-up at Giga Texas and other factors.
The base Model Y, starting at $39,990, is also showing extended delivery dates (more than 4 weeks).
The long-wheelbase Model Y L is considered by analysts to be a replacement for the now discontinued Model X, which also had three rows of seats.
“Why the YL for America, now? Because Tesla just ended production of the long-running…Model X, leaving a large, three-row, more-than-five-passenger, SUV-shaped hole in its lineup,” Edward Loh, head of editorial for MotorTrend, told me in April.
