The celebrities were out at The Sphere for Noche UFC, including WWE Superstars, who are also under the TKO Holdings umbrella.
WWE Hall-of-Famer Rey Mysterio was at Noche UFC. Backstage, the professional wrestling icon gifted UFC CEO Dana White with a special luchador mask with the Noche UFC logo on the forehead.
Mysterio was wearing the mask as he approached White.
He explained the mask’s significance before removing it and replacing it with a yellow and black one that perfectly matched his outfit. Here is a look at the interaction posted by TKO’s Instagram account.
Mysterio is considered the greatest luchador of all time. His professional wrestling career has spanned 35 years.
The legend turns 50 in December, but he still works full-time with the WWE. For more than a year, Mysterio has been locked in a storyline feud with his son Dominik Mysterio and the Judgment Day. Mysterio is the leader of the Latino World Order and an icon in Mexican culture.
That’s why his presence at the event was so appropriate and why TKO featured him in three different posts on their Instagram account.
Other Celebrities at The Sphere
Dominik Mysterio was on hand for the festivities. It’s unclear if he was booed whenever he attempted to speak at The Sphere. WWE fans will understand the reference, as Mysterio has emerged as arguably the best heel in professional wrestling.
R&B artist Chris Brown was at The Sphere as well. In addition to posing for pictures for the UFC’s production team, he posed with reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
If you ever doubt how big of a star Pereira has become in the UFC, look at the number of people who call him out and seek to take a pic with him when he is at an event. Pereira has emerged as a legit needle-mover in the sport.
Pound-for-pound contender in boxing and current WBA light middleweight champion Terence Crawford was also at The Sphere.
UFC production somehow mistook him for rapper Kendrick Lamar, which is pretty far-fetched. A similar complexion and the same hairstyle don’t make people resemble each other at more than a glance.
In any case, Bud was there.
Denver Nuggets guard, NBA star, and MMA fan Jamal Murray was there, as was comedian and personality Andrew Schulz. We heard White say this event would be a one-and-done multiple times, but based on the response, it wouldn’t surprise me if the UFC heads back to the Sphere for special events.
