Just three months away from a potential launch, the latest Galaxy Z Fold 6 leak will disappoint many in the community.
Samsung’s upcoming foldable is expected to break new ground in several areas, including a new design that potentially offers a wider aspect ratio, a dustproof hinge and the AI-supporting Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Many in the community have also been hoping that Samsung will increase the battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The last three models of the Z Fold series have had a 4,000 mAh battery, and there was hope that this year’s foldable flagship would do the same.
Those hopes look dashed as the ever-reliable Ice Universe posted on X that the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s battery would continue the now four-year-old tradition of sporting a 4000 mAh battery. Given that the Z Fold 6 is expected to use the same camera system as previous models, the Z Fold 6 is starting to look more like a point upgrade rather than a revolutionary step in foldable hardware.
Which could actually be a helpful move. If Samsung releases a fan edition of the Galaxy Fold 6, the South Korean company will want the media’s attention on the cheaper smartphone as it seeks to increase its market share in the foldable space.
