Dyson announced a bunch of new products today alongside its flagship V16 Piston Animal. One of them is the V8 Cyclone, which debuts as an upgraded V8 Stick with a slew of upgrades in terms of both power and usability. The new Dyson vacuum offers 30% more suction and 50% longer runtime than its predecessor, without majorly impacting the price tag.
Dyson’s V8 Cyclone succeeds the company’s best-selling vacuum, V8 Stick, which was launched in almost a decade ago. It lacks the fancy and costly flagship features but adds meaningful upgrades at an affordable price. The V8 Cyclone is capable of 150AW of suction power, which is impressive when compared to 115AW suction of the original V8. However, it is not as powerful as the V11 (200AW) or the new V16 Piston Animal (315AW).
The new Dyson V8 Cyclone also adds a battery boost, making it last up to one hour on a single charge. It might not be a spectacular number but it’s in-line with what you get on most cordless vacuums in this segment. Plus, it is a removable battery, so you can replace it once the cell wears out, without needing to replace the whole machine.
The V8 Cyclone now switches on and off with one-button press and sports an upgraded floorhead, which actively dangles hair. Unlike other pricier Dyson vacuums, the V8 Cyclone doesn’t support an Auto mode, so you have to manually adjust the suction power. It won’t adjust that automatically, depending on the type of floor.
The Dyson V8 Cyclone will cost you £350 in the U.K. and will go on sale starting 17 September 2025. This is just slightly more than Dyson V8 Advanced’s £330 price tag.

We put the motor and battery in your hand, rather than on the floor, which made it possible to clean up high, down low, and everywhere in between. Our light and highly-maneuverable format changed how people vacuum and was – as usual – copied by most of our competitors. So, we have now developed the next generation of this popular format to include our latest technologies, including a self-emptying dock. This is the Dyson V8 Cyclone.”
