There’s just under a month left before EA FC 27 heads into early access on all platforms. This year’s game claims to push the envelope visually and it will certainly deliver a new social-media led open-world experience in The Grounds. It’s going to be a big year for EA FC. Let’s talk video games.

The Grounds is the reason this launch reads differently from a normal EA FC year. VGC’s interview with line producer Karthik Venkateshan set out where Clubs sits inside it: “Clubs are one of the many ways to play together in The Grounds.”
One date matters more than the release date right now. Ultimate Plus is an Early Bird offer that disappears on August 31, so the most expensive version of the game is also the one on a clock.
Finding the sweet spot for an open-world experience in a sports game is tough. The truth is, most of the time it fails to land with the community. EA FC might have the right mix of casual interest and an undoubtedly vast player base to pull it off. We’ll know for sure in about a month.
