The patch notes for the Escape From Tarkov 0.15 update have been released and they bring a lot of big additions to the game including a brand new boss, a reworked factory map and hideout additions.
As the game was taken offline for the installation of the patch and wipe, the patch notes were released and they feature a lot of massive changes, with the promised big additions to Tarkov being the highlights. Partisan, the new boss who can be found on forested areas across maps, is one of the biggest additions when it comes to what you will experience in raids, as he will hunt down PMCs with bad karma and try to take them down with trip wires and other traps
Speaking of the trip wires, it looks like they might not be as annoying as first thought, despite being usable by players. The trip wires only last for a set amount of time, and depending on the grenade used there is a reasonable delay between hitting the wire and it going off, so it might not be the instant death we first thought.
Elsewhere in the Tarkov patch the hideout gets a big rework, with new areas that can be unlocked as you progress through the game. The Gear Rack gives you a simple space to plan loadouts and equip them quickly, while the Cultist Circle allows you to sacrifice up to five items to be given a random item of similar to value to the combined value of your sacrifices.
The new weapons we knew were coming have arrived, with the M60, Uzi and Desert Eagle leading the charge when it comes to new firearms. Bipods are now functional and you can mount eligible weapons on surfaces to gain more control when they fire, which should be a big upgrade.
When it comes to maps the reworked factory map is launching alongside this patch, with an expanded layout for both the lower tunnels and walkways above the main level of the map. It also has quite a different look, which should make it easier to spot enemies compared to the sea of brown the old version was.
The full patch notes also add things such as improved AI, map to map travel, and a lot of quality of life changes, which will be welcomed by a lot of Tarkov players. You’ll be able to play the patch when servers come back up later today.
Of course, the new patch also brings a new wipe, where all players in the PvP mode have had their progress and inventories wiped and they must start from scratch once again. This puts all the players on a level playing field and makes Tarkov feel like a brand new game once again, so I’m excited to jump in and complete those opening missions for what must be the 10th time by now. However, the initial quests on the Ground Zero map will likely take a bit of doing for the next few days given how many players will be going to those locations.
