Helldivers 2 is gearing up to release a new Warbond as of next week, and while leaks revealed many aspects of it before now, it’s being officially previewed on the PlayStation Blog, where players can see just what they’ll be getting for their Super Credits and Medals.
The total amount of cosmetics and gear is about the same as the other Warbonds, but “Democratic Detonation” may be the most attractive one yet.
Armor Sets:
- FS-55 Devastator – Heavy Armor
- CE-07 Demolition Specialist – Light Armor
- CE-26 Ground Breaker – Medium Armor
Banners/Capes:
- Harbinger of True Equality
- Eagle’s Fury
- Freedom’s Tapestry
Utilities:
- GP-31 Grenade Pistol – Fires grenades, as expected. Must reload after every shot.
- G-123 Thermite – Can stick to surfaces and burn.
- Expert Extraction Pilot Booster – Lowers the amount of time it takes for the extraction shuttle to reach the beacon.
Primary Weapons:
- BR-14 Adjudicator – Armor-piercing assault rifle best used against smaller groups.
- CB-9 Exploding Crossbow – Shoots exploding arrows that do max damage on impact. Shoots in an arc taking into account gravity.
- R-36 Eruptor – A bolt action rifle that has jet-assisted shells that explode shrapnel in all directions.
The Democratic Detonation Pack will be available on April 11 and will cost 1,000 Super Credits like the others, and medals are spent to make progress within it. As ever, you can earn Super Credits just by playing the game, rather than purchasing them in the store, even if it takes long, part of the Helldivers 2 monetization model that everyone likes. And because of this, no, despite selling things like weapons, it still doesn’t feel pay-to-win since everything can indeed be earned. And in PvE, it doesn’t really matter if someone gets a gun or piece of equipment faster than someone else.
I would suggest considering the purchase given that we are on the verge of what looks like it is probably going to be a full scale invasion of the top of the map by the Automatons as they execute “The Reclamation” and launch an attack to retake the Cyborg homeworld of Cyberstan. No, that hasn’t been confirmed but essentially every indicator in the game says that it’s going to happen soon enough here. And you will want to be as ready as possible in order to ensure that planet is not lost. You have six more days to save up medals and Super Credits for the new Warbond, so get to killing some bots in the current major order.
