The Signify Business Cash℠ Card by Wells Fargo, launched in May 2024, is a credit card aimed at small business owners and offering 2% cash back on purchases while charging a annual fee. It will be available in all Wells Fargo branches in mid-May for new and existing customers. But existing Wells Fargo customers can apply online immediately. What follows is a quick summary of what it will offer.

New Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash credit card details

If your application for the Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash card is approved, you’ll have the opportunity to earn the following welcome bonus: $500 cash rewards bonus when you spend $5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months.

On everyday spending, you’ll receive an unlimited 2% cash back. Whether you’re purchasing supplies, ordering lunch for your staff or booking a flight to a conference, this card earns a flat 2% cash back on every purchase. There are no caps to how much you can earn, and you don’t have to keep track of which bonus categories earn extra rewards.

Customers have numerous redemption options through the Wells Fargo Business Rewards Program. Redeem your rewards for credit card statement credits, direct deposits into your Wells Fargo checking or savings account, travel reservations, gift cards and more.

Wells Fargo recently rolled out the ability to transfer points to airline and hotel partners in coordination with the launch of the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey℠ Visa® Card. However, rewards earned from the Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash card will not be eligible to transfer to partners.

Intro Bonus

Earn 60,000 bonus rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months

Annual fee $95
Regular APR See Terms

The Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash card also offers a 0% introductory APR for 12 months from date of account opening, after which a 18.49%–26.49% variable APR will apply.

Other Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash credit card benefits

In addition to cash-back rewards, cardholders will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Primary rental car insurance.
  • Priority Pass membership (note that you’ll incur “pay as you go” airport lounge visit fees).
  • Baggage delay reimbursement.
  • No annual fee.
  • Employee cards at no additional cost.
  • Zero liability protection.
  • Free account alerts.
  • Digital wallet access.

Should you apply for the Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash credit card?

The Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash credit card is an excellent choice for business owners who want a flat-rate cash-back card with a $0 annual fee. Since it earns an unlimited 2% cash back on every purchase, there are no bonus categories to remember or limited-time offers to activate. Plus, there are no caps on how much you can earn, so whether your business plans to spend $5,000 or $100,000 per year, this card will provide valuable cash back to partially offset purchases you need to make anyway.

That said, the Signify Business Cash Card doesn’t offer bonus cash back on common business purchases. Some business owners may want to maximize their rewards by selecting a card with bonus categories that align with where they spend the most each month.

Additionally, this card doesn’t offer airline or hotel transfer partners. If you’re seeking a more travel-focused card and you’re not averse to a modest annual fee, the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card from Chase offers valuable transfer partners and robust travel protections, and charges $95 per year to carry.

Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card

Intro bonus

Earn 100,000 points after spending $8,000 in the first three months of card opening

Annual fee $95
Regular APR 21.24%–26.24% variable

The takeaway

Many 2% cash-back credit cards for business owners come with an annual fee or some kind of limitation. For example, the American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card offers 2% cash back on all eligible purchases on up to $50,000 per calendar year (then 1%). Or consider the Capital One Spark Cash Plus, which levies a $150 annual fee. The Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash credit card beats out such competitors in terms of a generous flat rewards rate on all spending plus no annual fee to eat into your earnings.

There may be better choices if you want to earn an elevated rate in certain bonus categories, or if you travel frequently for business and want a card that generates rewards you can use with airlines and hotel chains. But for small business owners who simply want straightforward cash back, this new card from Wells Fargo comes in strong. Plus, if you need to make a big-ticket purchase, the intro APR on purchases and welcome bonus that new cardholders can earn make the Signify Business Cash card an attractive financing option.
