MADFINGER Games has released the patch notes for Gray Zone Warfare hotfix three and less than a week after launching there are already major improvements included.
The patch notes follow on from an earlier hotfix last week that gave players the opportunity to change factions by wiping their character. It also attempted to fix some major bugs, such as the issue where some players’ heads were missing, but the issue still persisted in some cases.
However, the hotfix three patch notes fix that issue, along with the linked issue where players would lose their secure containers or clothes when they rejoined a server. It remains to be seen if the headless issue will pop up again, but all signs point to it being a thing of the past going forward.
The patch notes also bring a lot of other fixes for annoying bugs, from an issue that stopped players from cancelling matchmaking to the weird bug where DLC clothes would show up in your locker rather than on the clothing tab. It also added fixes for a lot of crashes that have been occurring, which should improve the general performance of Gray Zone Warfare significantly.
The big change outside of the bug fixes is a tweak to how servers are run. With the massive player numbers, it was fairly common for you to join a brand new server that had just come online, meaning everyone would be fighting to get one of the limited helicopters first. But then after a few hours, player numbers would often drop massively on the server while new ones were created.
Now, the new patch has changed how players join servers. Now you will prioritize joining an already running server rather than a new one starting up, which should fix the issues of everyone joining a server at the same time and then getting empty servers. This has been one of the more annoying parts of the Gray Zone Warfare launch, so getting a fix this quickly is certainly appreciated.
The patch is the third major hot fix for Gray Zone Warfare, which is still enjoying massive player numbers after a surprise launch next week. However, some players are still struggling with some of the more difficult tasks and finding keys to complete them. With the change to how servers work the good news is that there should be more players on your team to ask if they have the key you need.
