Here’s When Cobra Kai’s Final Episodes Come To Netflix As Season 6, Part 3 Release Date Revealed

Cobra Kai is finally coming to an end, wrapping up its elongated sixth season early next year. Parts 1 and 2 of the final season landed in July and November of 2024 respectively. The series will wrap in 2025 before the theatrical release of Karate Kid Legends in late May (see trailer below).

Like the last few seasons, Season 6 has been a bit of a mixed bag. Cobra Kai has been a little thin on meaningful content for awhile now, stretching out the stories of all its principle characters longer than necessary and introducing villain after over-the-top villain to try to keep things interesting.

I actually enjoyed Part 2 quite a bit—until the final episode. I loved that it took place in Barcelona, having traveled there some years ago. I recognized a bunch of the locations and it was fun to see the kids out of California. The Sekai Taikai tournament was also fun, even if it’s still a little silly to me how almost every team is filled with sociopaths and sociopathic senseis. Things really took a swing for the ludicrous in the final episode of Part 2, ending on a tragic note following one of the goofiest fight-scenes of the entire show.

Still, I’m looking forward to Part 3, and we won’t have to wait long. The third part of Season 6 lands on Netflix on February 13th. This is the date I reported it would stream back in August. Netflix leaked the release date on a public press site and then told me, via a representative, that the date was incorrect. That is clearly not the case. In other words, the release date is anything but a surprise.

I still don’t love how Netflix chose to release this season. I would have preferred weekly releases of three episodes over the course of six weeks, or any format that kept the episodes closer together. If Netflix wants to change its binge model that’s fine. I don’t think we needed all 18 episodes at once. But stretching them out over the course of eight months is just bizarre. You lose a lot of the momentum and hype in the process.

Karate Kid: Legends will ditch almost the entire cast of the series, leaving only Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso to star alongside Jackie Chan and newcomer Ben Wang. I understand why the movie is doing this, but I’ll miss some of the characters from the show, especially Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) who I still believe are the heart and soul of the series, no matter how much it became an ensemble about many different characters and their various melodramas.
