Leading global flash memory brand, Lexar, has announced the ES5, a magnetic and portable SSD designed to deliver portable storage with read and write speeds up to 2000MB/s.
Available in capacities as large as 4TB, the Lexar ES5 Magnetic Portable SSD supports MagSafe so it can be quickly and easily attached to a compatible iPhone or MagSafe-compatible case. It has a USB 3.2 Type-C interface.
The SSD also ships with an additional ring accessory, which you can stick on the back of any device to create a magnetic surface to work with the SSD. With the ES5 magnetically secured to a mobile device, users can shoot up to 4K video at 60fps for iPhone 15, 4K at 120fps for iPhone 16 and 17 and up to 8K 30fps with Samsung S25.
Dust And Waterproof
The Lexar ES5 SSD has a slim housing to reduce bulk, plus there is a liquid silicone coating for a comfortable grip. The ES5 is also rated IP65 for both dust and water resistance and has been tested with physical drops of up to three meters, so it can endure outdoor use.

Pricing and Availability:
The Lexar ES5 Magnetic Portable SSD is available now from Amazon. The 1TB model has an MRSP of $119.99, while the 2TB sells for $199.99. A 4TB model will be available in Q1 2026 for the North American market.
