The newest MLB The Show 24 Diamond Dynasty series was released on April 10.
It’s called Show Classics, featuring seven diamond cards ranging from 91 to 95 overall players. Here is a look at the cards that went live at 3 pm ET on all platforms.
How To Unlock the Show Classics Cards in MLB The Show 24 Diamond Dynasty
The cards in the Show Classics series are only available in packs at launch.
Users can purchase up to three packs of the Show Classics for 40,000 stubs with a guarantee of getting one of the seven available cards in each pack. There is a lower probability users will pull the two 95-overall cards, Nicholas Castellanos and Edward Cabrera.
There was some hope that these cards would be made available as a part of a program, but that isn’t the case just yet. However, there is a chance that could change by Friday, April 12 when the next content drop is scheduled.
The Edward Cabrera and Nicholas Castellanos Cards Land on the Rare Tier
Immediately, the cards that leap out at experienced users will be the 95 overall Edward Cabrera and Nicholas Castellanos cards.
The Cabrera card was one of the most dominant when it was initially released as a part of the MLB The Show 21 Future Stars collection. Cabrera’s high-velocity sinker and fastballs made him nearly unhittable in the hands of a user capable of maximizing the Marlins pitcher’s passive strengths.
The real-life Cabrera hasn’t quite turned the corner. He’s still only 25 years old but hasn’t pitched yet in 2024 while recovering from an arm injury. During his three-year career, Cabrera has compiled a 13-14 record, a 4.01 ERA, and a 1.336 WHIP.
He has also averaged 10.1 strikeouts per nine innings pitched. Castellanos is a veteran who has proven to be a strong hitter everywhere he’s played.
The card captures Castellanos during his brief but productive stint with the Chicago Cubs in 2019. Castellanos hit .321 with 16 HR and 36 RBI in just 51 games with the Cubs after being traded to Chicago from the Detroit Tigers midseason.
Those two cards are justifiably locked into the rare tier of the pack.
