Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s pay skyrocketed to $50 million after smashing performance records

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s pay skyrocketed to million after smashing performance records

  • Top executives at $3 trillion Nvidia crushed their revenue and operating income goals in fiscal 2025, blowing past stretch targets the board’s compensation committee set. The board approved maximum payouts for CEO Jensen Huang and his team as a result. Huang also got a raise, his first in a decade, and some senior executives saw pay packages rise as much as 70%.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang got a 50% base pay raise last year but that barely accounts for his nearly $50 million pay package.

Nvidia told investors on Tuesday that Huang’s fiscal 2025 total compensation, including cash and stock, was valued at $49.9 million, versus $34.2 million the year prior. The boost came amid across-the-board pay hikes for the executive team—including a $7 million hike to Huang’s total target comp to bring him closer in line with the market. Huang also saw his first base salary increase in a decade and Nvidia followed it up with fiscal 2025 revenues of $130.5 billion, operating income of $86.8 billion, and three-year total shareholder return of 384%.

Huang’s compensation is made up of a base salary of $1.5 million, a target cash bonus of $3 million, and an equity award that could be valued as high as $27.5 million, depending on performance. Other named executive officers, including chief financial officer Colette Kress, worldwide field operations executive Ajay Puri, and executive vice president Debora Shoquist saw pay bumps in their equity opportunity values by $3 million to $3.5 million apiece for the 2025 fiscal year, which concluded in January. The senior executive team, other than Huang, saw total pay package values rise between 59% and 74% higher over fiscal 2024, largely driven by rising stock values and hitting stretch goals the company set.

Meanwhile, as recently as fiscal 2023, team Nvidia missed goals related to revenue and non-GAAP operating income, and the tech giant paid zero cash bonuses to top executives, and other performance-based equity awards failed to vest. The company measures its pay packages against other tech giants it competes with for talent, including Broadcom, Cisco Systems, Meta Platforms, Netflix, Oracle and Salesforce.

Nvidia also met with its largest institutional investors, representing ownership of 31% of stock in the company and shareholders offered up positive feedback, the company said.

Nvidia also told investors that Huang’s son and daughter both work for the company their father leads. Neither live with Huang nor report to him.

Huang’s daughter made about $1.1 million in fiscal 2025 and his son made $530,000, the company said. According to data intelligence platform Canary, Huang’s daughter is a senior director of marketing and earned $370,000 in fiscal 2024. Huang’s son also got a raise and earned $330,000 last fiscal year.

An Nvidia spokesperson declined to comment.
