Welcome back, dearest Strandistas! Oh thou solvers of word puzzles! Behold, I have returned to author this week’s Strands guides. Huzzah!
I take the proverbial torch from Paul Tassi today, and pass it along to Kris Holt at the end of the week. I also write a daily Wordle Guide and we’ve added the NYTs Mini Crossword puzzle to the mix as well. It will be my turn to write that one up starting next week. So many games, so little time!
Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a new twist on classic word search games. You get a theme to go by and then uncover all the words on the grid, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. Let’s solve today’s, shall we?

Today’s Strands Breakdown
At first I thought I was looking for GOLDILOCKS because I could see the OCKS in two places, and a couple of G’s. But when I found GOODNIGHTMOON (yep, I found the spangram first today) I readjusted. The book is basically just saying ‘Goodnight’ to everything in the house. Goodnight MUSH, goodnight MITTENS, goodnight KITTENS. I found those three first, then pretty quickly snagged SOCKS and CLOCKS. All that was left was NOBODY.
Whenever I think of Goodnight Moon, I’m reminded of this amazing Jimmy Fallon sketch where he does an incredible Jim Morrison / The Doors impression with the Reading Rainbow theme song. He includes a few children’s books including some Goodnight Moon verses. So clever and such a phenomenal impression!
