PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2024: Predictions, Rumors, Leaks And More

PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2024: Predictions, Rumors, Leaks And More

It’s almost July already, with just over a week left in the sunny month of June. That means another batch of free PlayStation Plus Essential games is about to be announced. It also means we have some fireworks in our near future, as July 4th is just around the corner.

June’s PS Plus lineup wasn’t bad but it was nothing to write home about, either. The games this month were: SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, AEW: Fight Forever and Streets Of Rage 4. These can be claimed through Monday, July 1st.

Read on for more information on next month’s PS Plus lineup.

What Is PlayStation Plus And How Much Does It Cost?

PS Plus is Sony’s monthly membership program that grants access to online gaming. You don’t need it for streaming movies or TV shows on Netflix and other services, or for free-to-play games like Warzone or Fortnite. Any paid online games, however, require a subscription.

There are three PS Plus tiers—Essential, Extra and Premium—though for the purposes of this post we’re only discussing the Essential tier’s free monthly games. Following a big price-hike, these tiers cost: PS Plus Essential — $79.99/year; PS Plus Extra — $134.99/year; PS Plus Premium — $159.99/year.

When Will Sony Reveal Next Month’s PS Plus Games?

Sony typically reveals the following month’s games on the last Wednesday of the month, though this isn’t always the case. The actual rule of thumb is that the new lineup always releases on the first Tuesday of the month and the games are revealed the previous Wednesday.

This means we’ll get the official reveal next Wednesday, June 26th, and the new lineup will be available on Tuesday, July 2nd. Subscribers will have until then to download this month’s free games.

Games Leaving PS Plus In July

Six games have been confirmed to be leaving PS Plus this coming month. Players will have until July 15th to play the following titles:

  • Dysmantle
  • Fast & Furious Spy Racers: Rise of Sh1ft3r
  • Kingdom Two Crowns
  • My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure
  • Saints Row IV Re-Elected
  • Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Next Level Edition

PS Plus May Leaks, Rumors And Predictions

We have no announcements, leaks or rumors yet for the PS Plus titles coming in July. The only two games launching on July 2nd are the free-to-play looter shooter The First Descendant and the Final Fantasy XIV expansion Dawntrail. I doubt either of those will be on PS Plus. Maybe Hades will finally join PS Plus now that Hades II is out in early access, or Elden Ring to boost Shadow of the Erdtree sales.

I’ll update this post if/when any leaks or rumors do drop, but for now we’ll have to stick with my prediction / wishful thinking list (some of these are not good games, but since Sony often gives out poorly-received titles this makes them likely contenders).

  • Hitman 3
  • Hades
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • Need For Speed Unbound
  • The Outer Worlds
  • Forspoken
  • Demon’s Souls
  • The Order 1886
  • The Last Of Us Part 1
  • LEGO Jurassic World
  • Marvel’s Midnight Suns
  • Tales of Arise
  • Cult Of The Lamb
  • Little Nightmares 2
  • Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
  • Nier: Automata
  • Elden Ring
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
  • Metal: Hellsinger
  • Donut Country
  • Dead Island 2
  • Metro Exodus
  • Gollum
  • Skull Island: Rise Of Kong
  • The Walking Dead: Destinies
