Samsung Drops Galaxy Z Fold 6 Price In New Limited Deal

Samsung Drops Galaxy Z Fold 6 Price In New Limited Deal

Samsung hasn’t released its official Black Friday deals yet, but it is rolling out new short-term discounts in the run up to the shopping event. Today’s offer slashes the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and a handful of wearables.

Samsung U.K. has dropped the Galaxy Z Fold 6 by £300 ($379.02) for all storage variants. That means, for example, the 256GB model is down to £1,499 ($1186.49) from £1,799 ($1423.94).

That promotion can be stacked with a 5% discount when ordered through the Samsung Shop app using the code “APP5.” This deal runs until November 19th and comes with enhanced trade-in prices.

Samsung U.K.’s trade-in valuations do not match up to the U.S. shop’s, which is an issue I have seen other European buyers complain about. For example, Samsung U.K. will pay £240 ($303.37) for your Galaxy S21 Ultra, whereas Samsung U.S. values it at $600—almost double after conversion. That difference is repeated in most other devices Samsung will accept in both shops.

It’s not clear why there’s a discrepancy between the two territories, but there is likely a complex formula when pricing phones in different countries. The fact that Samsung is promising to price match the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with any other retailer in the U.K. suggests it is confident that it can be competitive without resorting to the more extreme pricing strategies it relies on in the U.S., bigger market with stiffer competition from Apple.

Samsung is also pushing bundle deals. One that caught my eye is a discounted Galaxy Ring (20% off) when bought with the Z Fold 6. To my mind, this is the first time the smart ring has received any sort of discount directly from Samsung, with the Korean company steadfastly sticking with its original launch pricing. That could be down to its popularity and the lack of competition on the market, with only the Oura Ring being a serious alternative.

This promotion only lasts a few days and ends on the 19th, which means this isn’t the final Black Friday pricing. I suspect Samsung will have a combination of better trade-in prices, bigger discounts (especially for bundle deals) and free access to services like Samsung Care +. The fact that the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the company’s flagship smartphone, isn’t included in this latest round of offers suggests that the Korean company is planning something bigger.
