After Google gave the Pixel 9 its first official discount in an early Black Friday sale, Samsung has followed suit with a major Galaxy S24 Ultra price cut.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB and 512GB models have been discounted by $250 if you don’t have another handset to trade in. That brings the price down to $1,049.99 and $1,169.99 respectively.
Samsung has also increased trade-in prices by $800. If you read my deals stories you will know that the headline trade-in price—from any manufacturer—is pure marketing. Samsung will only pay $800 for last year’s Galaxy S23 Ultra, which isn’t worth trading in because it is a new phone with years of software updates left. With that said, Samsung has some impressively high valuations for your old handset.
- Galaxy S21 Ultra – $650
- Galaxy S20 Ultra – $400
- Galaxy S9 – $300
- Galaxy S8 Plus – $300
- Google Pixel 5 – $300
- Google Pixel 4 $300
The Korean company also offers $300 for any iPhone, Galaxy or Pixel device. This is a generous deal if you have an old phone sitting around that still works and doesn’t have any serious damage to it.
You can pick up a Pixel 2 on eBay for $20, or any phone from that era for a similar price and give it to Samsung for $300. However, it has to be in working order, which could be an issue for a device that is seven years old.
This is currently the best Galaxy S24 Ultra deal around right now, but it won’t be for the next two weeks. Samsung classes this as an early Black Friday sale and after seeing Amazon’s huge Pixel 9 discount today, I suspect all retailers have far better deals up their sleeves for the actual Black Friday weekend, Samsung included.
