Now that the iPhone 17 hype has died down, at least until pre-orders start to land (read my trade-in guide here and iPhone Air warning here), Samsung is aiming to take back the spotlight with major new Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra offers.
This story was updated on September 15th with new offers for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Let’s start with the best deal, which is for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Samsung is bundling a free pair of Galaxy Buds3 Pro with the foldable phone, alongside a free Galaxy Chromebook Go 14”. The Korean company must really want to clear its Chromebook stock, because it has given away the laptop in other recent deals.
Giving away two premium devices, for free, is a rare offer for Samsung to make. Combined, they’re worth £618 ($837.82), so this is a serious deal that you should take a look at if you’re interested in the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
For the Galaxy S25 FE, buyers will get a free Galaxy Watch 7 40mm with the newly released phone until October 2nd. That is combined with a guaranteed £100 ($135.57) trade-in for any smartphone, in any condition. Samsung has told me previously that it will truly honor the “any condition” part of that promise, so scan eBay, Swappa or your local used store for a cheap used phone to send in. Just make sure it’s working.
The Korean company has also created a new code, “FE5” that knocks 5% off the total purchase price if the phone is bought through the Samsung Shop app. Annoyingly, that code can’t be stacked with the long-running “APP5” code that also knocks 5% off purchases (I checked).
The new Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has also been bundled with the Galaxy Buds 3 if the code “LIVEGIFT” is used at checkout, alongside a free keyboard cover. That code expires on September 15th. If you do buy through the Samsung Shop app, the 5%-off “APP5” code appears to work. Samsung is teasing an “exclusive benefit” when the tablet is bought through its dedicated shop app, which I’m told is a further 10% off the tablet with the code “NEW11”.
Interestingly, the Tab S11 Ultra comes with a one-year free subscription to Google AI Pro, rather than the six months Samsung’s flagships are bundled with. This, however, is only for students, and you will need to prove you’re studying with a university email address.
All of these deals apply to U.K. shoppers. U.S. Galaxy device buyers in the haven’t been so lucky. But there is a very generous free Perplexity AI Pro offer to all Galaxy device users in the U.S.
Samsung’s Galaxy Device Discount Deluge
It’s hard not to think that Samsung giving away headphones and a laptop to Galaxy Z Fold 7 buyers isn’t related to the iPhone 17 launch. Apple doesn’t have a competing foldable phone, and despite whatever reservations iPhone fans have about Android, the allure of technology may be hard to resist.
Samsung appears to be benefitting from a surge in popularity in the U.S., with its market share rising from 23% to 31% in the second quarter of 2025, according to Canalys (via CNBC). Meanwhile, Apple’s market share has declined to 49% from 56%.
Part of that may be down to Samsung’s unique foldable option and its incentives to Apple users, such as the Fold 7’s 100-day free trial. Or the aggressive and persistent giveaways, discounts and offers it runs for the foldable phone, which we don’t see for other phones in the tech giant’s lineup. Clearly, Samsung wants to exploit the gap between the two companies until Apple’s iPhone Fold eventually lands. ]
September 15th update: Samsung clearly wants to offload as many Chromebooks as possible because the laptop has been bundled with two more Galaxy phones. Both the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy S25 Ultra will now come with a free Chromebook Go 14”.
In the case of the Galaxy Z flip 7, Samsung will also throw in a free pair of Galaxy Buds3 (worth £159 / $179.99 in the U.S.), alongside an extra £100 ($136.07) off if the code “FF7” is used at checkout. There’s an additional 15% off if you’re a student or key worker (including teachers). It’s worth trying the 5% off “APP5” code in the Samsung Shop app to see if that can be stacked on top of the other discounts.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has been discounted by £150 ($204.11) and it also comes with a further 15% off if you’re a student or key worker. There’s no free pair of earbuds, though.
Samsung will claim these freebies and price drops are related to the back to school period, which is likely partially the answer. But the company has released all of its major smartphones for 2025 and now it has to hold the public’s interest with major promotions. If you’re planning to buy a smartphone, now is the time, because there will be mabny more of these heavy discounts until the Galaxy S26 lands.
