Samsung’s Most Impressive Galaxy Phone Offer Is Ending Soon

Samsung’s Most Impressive Galaxy Phone Offer Is Ending Soon

Last year, Samsung rolled out a surprise offer that gave away 12 months of Disney Plus for free to owners of select Galaxy phones. That offer finishes at the end of this month, March 31st.

The offer is available through Samsung’s little-known Boost rewards program, which gives owners of Galaxy phones access to discounts and free trials of services and experiences. The catch is that Samsung rewards, and the Disney Plus offer, is only available to Galaxy phone owners in the U.K.

The list of devices available is reasonably large, but mostly limited to recent Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy S22 range, Galaxy Tab S9 tablets and some Galaxy Book laptops. The freebie entitles users to 12 months of Disney’s standard plan (worth £79.90 annually), which includes streaming in 1080p and comes without ads.

To claim the offer, users have to go to the Samsung Boost site and scan the QR code, sign into your with Samsung account with your Galaxy device, and use the promo code to claim the subscription. For Galaxy S24 owners, the company says that the offer has to be redeemed via the Samsung Wallet app. According to the terms and conditions, users with unclaimed promo codes will have until May 1st, 2024 to redeem them.

When Samsung launched this offer last November, it had a handful of other free trials available, like access to the Xbox Game Pass streaming service. But that offer is no longer available, instead the gaming section of the rewards site just features a £10 ($12.70) Galaxy Store voucher. Other deals, like four months of YouTube Premium, or two months of Adobe Lightroom, aren’t as impressive as the Disney Plus deal.

At the end of the 12 months, the subscription will auto-renew and users will have to pay £7.99 (also $7.99 in the U.S.) a month. So make sure to make a note in your calendar if you don’t plan to continue the subscription. If you forget and you’re charged the full fee, Disney says that it may refund your subscription “under certain circumstances.” This is likely intentionally vague because it’s at the company’s discretion. But it’s always worth contacting Disney and asking for a refund, which has worked for me in the past when I have overstayed my free trial with other services.

Samsung’s rewards program isn’t available to U.S. Galaxy phone owners, but there has been a spate of discounts and freebies from major smartphone manufacturers in recent months. Google has repeatedly slashed the price of its Pixel 8 phone with back-to-back sales, while Samsung has been giving away expensive wearables with its Galaxy S24.
