Following the anime adaptation of the excellent Sand Land manga, we now have an amazing looking video game coming out this April.
With the Sand Land manga readily available again, and the movie version released in the West later this year. It’s nice to know that we have what looks like to be an interesting game on the way too.
Taking a more action role-playing game approach in what appears to be an open world setting, the game deviates from the main plot somewhat and expands on it further. Allowing you to build and pilot additional vehicles from just the tank in the host manga.
It also looks great and it’s nice to see that ILCA know their way around Unreal Engine.
The game also showcases how great of a mecha designer Akira Toriyama really is. While many just know his work from Dragon Ball, Toriyama is a very multifaceted artist and storyteller. After all, his work has also been the foundation of the Dragon Quest series for literal decades.
In short, Sand Land looks genuinely great and while I was hoping this game would turn out okay, it seems like ILCA has done a great job here and I really can’t wait to play it.
Sand Land is released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC on April 26.
